By accessing and using Split4Me ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Beta Service Terms

By using this service during Beta, you acknowledge and accept these limitations and risks.

3. Service Description

Split4Me is a web-based service that allows users to:

• Upload receipt images for AI-powered data extraction
• Create collaborative bill splitting sessions
• Invite participants to join and claim items
• Calculate proportional splits including tax and tip
• Export split data for payment processing

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree NOT to:

• Upload malicious, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the service
• Use the service for commercial purposes without permission
• Share false or misleading information
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4.2 Receipt Accuracy

You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of extracted receipt data. While we use AI to process receipts, errors may occur. Always review and correct extracted information before finalizing splits.

5. Intellectual Property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Split4Me and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you upload, but grant us a limited license to process and display that content as necessary to provide the service.

6. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the service, to understand our practices. By using the service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

7.1 Service Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Split4Me shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or relating to your use of the service.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Split4Me and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the service will cease immediately. All provisions of the terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
